A New Collection

HEY.

It has been awhile since I’ve written a post but here we go.

I’ve been painting away lately on a new collection of originals, something a little different...something a little smaller...that I wanted to share with you!

SMALLER?! 

Yes. Last week I threw it out there on my Instagram that I was thinking of doing a few smaller paintings and the response was so good. Thank you! 

And so I started painting ...

Until I painted all the canvases I had. So here we go! These paintings are all inspired from British Columbia and the Rocky Mountains from our hiking trip this summer and I’m so excited to share them with you!

I really enjoyed painting the sky on this one. It’s a new shade of blue that I’ve never used before! (this is very exciting for me haha) This one is inspired by my son Jack. I asked him what I should paint on this canvas and he said his favourite run (Exhibition) from where we stop at the side of the run and all the snow covered trees. I haven’t done this perspective before, usually the viewpoint is from straight on, so I really liked the challenge and loved how it turned out. Thanks Jack.

WHERE IS KNOX MOUNTAIN?

It’s in Kelowna, BC just north of Downtown. We took the Apex trail from the parking lot all the way to the second lookout. There is a first lookout (approx 20 minutes from trailhead) just in case you or your little ones don’t want to do the full trail. The views south over the valley and Okanagan Lake are gorgeous and from the second lookout you can take another little trail that leads you to this point which looks out North towards Lake Country.
