The sunsets have been very dramatic lately with those deep, dark clouds and vibrant pops of colour against the mountains and soft shades of blue of the water.

I had a lot of fun painting this one and really wanted to play up the contrasting colours and shades. I often felt pulled to tone down the contrast but then the word dramatic kept popping up in my mind and I just went with it. I’m happy that the sun is setting later and rising earlier but I do hope we still get these dramatic sunsets.

The size on this original is so versatile, it can be hung above your couch, in a hallway or over your head.

This original is created on 1.5” thick canvas with the edges painted giving it a clean, finished look when hanging on the wall. Framing is optional as this painting is wire mounted and ready to hang.
